The inside story
If you have planned a trip to Venice, a dream vacation is waiting for you! The "Serenissima" will embrace you with its narrow, winding streets (calli), its channels topped by beautiful bridges and crossed by gondolas. Venice seems to have been taken directly out of fairy tale, but moving around in a city built on over one-hundred islands connected by bridges can be complicated.
The easiest way to move freely throughout Venice is to use the ACTV public transport services: water-buses that connect the different areas of the city, also with the Lido and the various islands of the lagoon, and buses in Mestre, Marghera and mainland. Purchase the pass that allows you to get buses and ferries without limits, with just one ticket with validity from 1-way up to 7 days.
